Julie Canter focuses her practice on auto accidents, personal injury, divorce, and criminal defense. She approaches every case with compassion while aggressively representing each client.
Ms. Canter spent the early years of her career as a prosecutor in the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office. During her tenure at the office, she was the division head for one of the criminal courts. She devoted her focus to victims of violent crime and later decided to open her own practice to devote the same energy and passion to each individual client.
Ms. Canter has spent over a decade litigating in front of East Tennessee juries and has been lead counsel in over 40 jury trials ranging from DUI to first-degree murder. She also has extensive bench trial experience in General Sessions Court and Juvenile Court.
Ms. Canter is a fighter who is tenacious in the face of any obstacle. She worked to put herself through both college and law school. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Psychology from East Tennessee State University and her Juris Doctor from Appalachian School of Law.
Ms. Canter’s practice is centered on the most important asset: the client. Whether injured in an auto collision or in the process of a divorce, Ms. Canter fights for the rights of every client while helping them navigate through the legal system.
