Practice Summary
Practice Overview
A shareholder of Williams Attorneys PLLC, Justin L. Williams is a highly-regarded civil litigation attorney. Located in Corpus Christi, Texas, he represents people and businesses throughout the state, and he also has clients in North Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana.

Mr. Williams places a significant emphasis on personal injury and wrongful death litigation. He focuses his practice on oil field injuries, catastrophic burn and wrongful death claims, large commercial claims, drug claims, “whistleblower” or Federal or State False Claims Act cases, contingency litigation, and also has experience in royalties and other oil and gas litigation. He has obtained more than $100 million in compensation for his plaintiff clients, both through jury awards and settlements negotiated out of court.

Mr. Williams learned almost every aspect of the oil field - from drilling pad to surface cement, from TD to snubbing, from cementing to completion - during years of representing the oil & gas and oilfield service industry. He represented Mobil Oil Corporation, ExxonMobil, Halliburton Company, Halliburton Energy Services, Inc. and related Halliburton companies, Chevron U.S.A., Pennzoil, Shell, Texaco, Standard Oil and BP, a host of independents and service companies Western Atlas and Baker Hughes. For the last 10+ years, Mr. Williams has applied the experience he gained representing the industry to representing oilfield workers who are severely injured or burned, as well as the families of workers killed in the oil field or in the offshore oil industry. In addition to his land-based experience, he has experience in platform explosion, Jones Act seaman cases, and foreign seaman cases.

Mr. Williams was featured in a cover story in the New York Times entitled “Where Oil and Politics Meet.” He was also interviewed for a PBS television documentary on safety in the oil field in North Dakota and featured on NPR’s “All Thing’s Considered” radio program on the same subject.

His successful track record throughout his career and high degree of ethics have earned him the recognition of his fellow attorneys, including an AV Preeminent peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo. In addition, Mr. Williams has been named to The National Trial Lawyers Top 100, and he is a member of both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Mr. Williams attended the University of Houston where he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1980 and his Juris Doctor in 1983. While in law school, he was an associate editor of the Houston Law Review.

Mr. Williams is admitted to practice in Texas and North Dakota state courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the District of North Dakota, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
