Gerald L. Marcus has been practicing law since 1987; however he worked in the personal injury field of law since 1980 as a private investigator for one of the largest personal injury firms in the San Fernando Valley. Mr. Marcus was the firm's primary negligence investigator, and worked directly under the firm's senior partners developing and preparing cases for settlement and trial. The experience that Mr. Marcus gained as a full-time negligence investigator inspired his passion of fighting for the rights of innocent injured victims against the insurance industry.
Mr. Marcus attended California State University Northridge, and later attended law school at the Southern California Institute of Law at the Ventura College of Law campus. Mr. Marcus was able to complete the 4 year law school curriculum a full six months early, all while working as a full time negligence investigator.
Mr. Marcus prides himself on being a tough, creative, and fair legal representative and negotiator. He has taken on and prevailed in some of the most difficult and complex cases, many of which other attorneys had rejected. Since 1987, Mr. Marcus has represented more than 15,000 clients and has obtained $200,000,000.00 in settlements, arbitration awards, and jury verdicts for innocent injured victims.
Mr. Marcus is dedicated to the principals and philosophy that every innocent injured victim is entitled to the best possible representation, regardless of their personal financial status or the size and complexity of their case. Mr. Marcus is an active member of the California State Bar, The American Association for Justice (AAJ), the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA), San Fernando Valley Bar Association (SFVBA), Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA) Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) (formerly the California Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA)), and Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA). Mr. Marcus has been honored and recognized as a "Super Lawyer" for more than 5 consecutive years, and most recently was honored as a Top 100 Super Lawyer in Southern California. In addition to regularly being recognized and honored as a Top 10 and Top 100 law firm in Southern California, he has received countless awards and honors over the past 31 years in practice.
Mr. Marcus' most important association is his involvement with the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Charities (LATLC). In addition to serving as the 2019 President for LATLC, he has served as an Honorary Board Member, a member of the Board of Directors, and an Officer of the Executive Committee since 2014.
Mr. Marcus has been married for more than 30 years, has two daughters, two dogs, and is a L.A. Clippers Fan.
