Practice Summary
Practice Overview
Faith G. Miller is one of New York’s most preeminent and well-known matrimonial and family law attorneys. She has represented both adults and children in high-profile cases presenting some of the most complex financial and custodial issues. The fact that nationally-prominent individuals have chosen to rely upon her legal skills and acumen reflects her 35 years of experience and her recognized dedication to serving the best interests of her clients. She has been consistently recognized as a Super Lawyer by the New York Law Journal and as a Lawyer of Distinction.

Ms. Miller began her career as a law assistant to the Hon. Joseph F. Gagliardi, then the Administrative Judge for New York State’s Ninth Judicial District, covering Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Orange Counties. She served as an Assistant Westchester County Attorney in the Family Court Bureau where she handled difficult cases involving child abuse and neglect. Upon entering private practice, she was frequently appointed by judges to represent children in custody, guardianship, and estate proceedings. In 2013, after three decades of practice, she founded Miller Zeiderman & Wiederkehr, LLP, which has rapidly become one of the largest matrimonial and family law practice groups in the New York metropolitan area.

Ms. Miller is a founding member of the American Academy of Certified Financial Litigators and is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst. Although she is a zealous and effective courtroom advocate for her clients, Ms. Miller recognizes the toll - both financial and emotional - that matrimonial litigation can exact and seeks to reach fair and just settlements through negotiation and mediation whenever possible. Her mediation skills have been recognized by her peers and the court system as demonstrated by her selection for membership in the panel of matrimonial and family law mediators for the Ninth Judicial District.

Ms. Miller provides legal representation across a broad spectrum of matrimonial and family law issues, ranging from equitable distribution, child support and spousal maintenance, and the myriad of financial issues confronting divorcing couples to domestic violence, child custody, abuse, neglect, international custody proceedings and pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements. During her extensive career, she has represented clients in hundreds of contested cases in the matrimonial and family courts in the New York metropolitan area. She has also served as appellate counsel on appeals to the Appellate Divisions for both the First and Second Departments.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Miller has served on numerous court and bar committees, including the Ninth Judicial District’s Gender Fairness Committee. She is Treasurer and Executive Board Member of the Justice Brandeis Law Society, and is a founding member of the Westchester County Law Guardian Association. She is also a member of the Family Law Sections of both the New York State and Westchester County Bar Associations and has participated as a lecturer and panelist in continuing legal education programs.

Ms. Miller attended law school at Fordham University School of Law as well as the State University of New York, Buffalo Law School, which awarded her a Juris Doctor in 1980. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University, where she majored in Near Eastern Languages and Literature.
